After a CRAZY bus trip we have arrived and spent our first day in San Miguel Allende. Our humble abode is called "The Casita de las Flores" and we whole heartedly recommend it to any travelers to SMA. The casita has five rooms and an inviting shared kitchen. We must admit we were a bit nervous as our taxi brought us to the casita b/c it is definitely in a TRUE mexican neighborhood. Yet now we realize just how safe San Miguel truly is and we find our neighborhood to be much more authentic than the Centro area, filled with its ritzy (yet breathtaking hotels). This is truly the place for a young couple, young travelers, or just the gringos who want to see ALL of SMA.
