Comida con cervezas=$13

Last night we had dinner at "Ten Ten Pie" and it was fantastic! We had (or should I say I had, since I ate about 90% of it) guacamole con topos, beers, y dos platos por $137 pesos. The food was AWESOME and the wait staff was super nice until Simi made me ask if my agua was agua pura. I knew it was but he got me so damn paranoid I finally asked. Our waitress was a bit annoyed and told us claro, es muy limpia! We are such flipping gringos!!!

Karin and I were lucky enough to witness the Palm Sunday Procession through streets of San Miguel de Allende.

Starting bright and early at 9am a large group of Mexicans and few Americans encroached on an adventure lasting 2 hours. The procession started at Parque de Jaurez and colorfully traveled up Calle Sollano all the way to the Jardin (Central Square). You will notice on the sight that many of the doors that lined Calle Sollano were decorated with vibrant colors and palms, many of which belonged to retired Americanos. The photos you see here were ones that we took while watching this brilliant display of faith, culture, color, and of course music and JESUS CHRITSO himself..which was interesting because he was on a DONKEY.

Casita de las Flores

After a CRAZY bus trip we have arrived and spent our first day in San Miguel Allende.

Our humble abode is called "The Casita de las Flores" and we whole heartedly recommend it to any travelers to SMA. The casita has five rooms and an inviting shared kitchen. We must admit we were a bit nervous as our taxi brought us to the casita b/c it is definitely in a TRUE mexican neighborhood. Yet now we realize just how safe San Miguel truly is and we find our neighborhood to be much more authentic than the Centro area, filled with its ritzy (yet breathtaking hotels). This is truly the place for a young couple, young travelers, or just the gringos who want to see ALL of SMA.
