Leh, viewed from Leh Palace as the Namgyal dynasty once might have. Leh is the biggest city in Ladakh, albeit tiny by Indian standards. Its population is about 30,000 during the long and harsh winter, swelling to about 200,000 during the pleasant summer - thanks to tourism as well as the Indian military.
