The Beauty of Sri Lanka is not always hidden away. This photo of a baby elephant and its parents was a sight to see. I wonder why it seems to be only poverty and war that people seem to think about when they think of Sri Lanka. You don’t have to look hard to find beauty in this country. Its without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

This is one of my favorites and also one of the hardest to look at for me. While in the school at Henamulla, I looked at the front door and seen this very young boy standing there. It was a big reminder of where I was.

It’s a sad sight to see an animal living in a place like this but hidden behind all the wild dogs, barb wire and worn out tin houses is a community thriving with happy people and animals that roam free and undisturbed. This photo was taken right around the corner from where I was staying.
