My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Serbia | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos

My name is Nikola Pavlovic.I am 20 years old and I live in Belgrade, capital of Serbia.I am student of the Faculty of Biology, Department of Ecology.I opted for this college because of the nature and animals that are my great love. This is one of the reasons why I also signed up for this contest because I want to see and photograph all these animals in their natural habitat.I started photographing when I was 12.It was a time when I got my first digital camera. I wore a camera with me everywhere and photographed almost every interesting moment that I saw. Then began to arise my first photos that were admired by the people around me.
My first major success occurred this year when there was competition for the best amateur pictures of Belgrade.Three of my photos entered in the final and were on exhibition in Knez Mihailova Street, which is the most famous pedestrian street in Belgrade and Serbia.
I think this competition is great opportunity to learn many more things related to photography. I really want to improve and learn and I want to,as a photographer, travel the world and show people who can not afford to travel some interesting places on the best way I know.I want people to travel through my photos and to see all the nooks and all the wonderful creatures on our planet.
For the theme I chose the mountain Avala, which is 10 kilometers from Belgrade. The perfect place to come and take a break from city noise and crowds.Beautiful nature, a beautiful place for camping, several important monuments. From The Avala Tower, which is one of the most recognizable symbols of Avala, you can enjoy your coffee and watch the flat regions of Vojvodina and mountainous regions of Central Serbia.Unfortunately, the tower is closed when there are strong winds that are frequent in this period.
