My Scholarship entry - The Dancing Devils

This religious celebration has evolved around symbols representing the struggle of good versus evil. The ritual is described by residents as a dance of cultural resistance.

The festival is celebrated every year, on the day of Corpus Christi . Adults and children from the town dance to the sounds of the maracas and drums.

Although women don't dress up as devils, many do take part in the ritual following the parade, providing water and food or simply enjoying the view from a comfortable chair.
