My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Photography for me goes further than creating an image. Every photograph I take is to remember the place, to remember the people, the earth. When I look at my photographs I remember smells, the fresh prepared falafel; the everchanging spices towering in the air, the pungent stale sea. My life is meant for exploration, to travel and discover the world...to tick off my bucket list...and to add to it.
Photographs freeze time, places are always changing...children grow up and people die. Photography is my document of the world, my input.
My life in photography...I at times feel lost and scared, I wonder would I ever earn money from it? I will not stop, as it is one of the things that I love. I will forever use it to capture images of my friends and family, the places I have been and will go and of moments in time. My future is to travel the world, documenting and to learn from others and I am restless to ever cease this dream. The people I have met and the places I have been so far have really opened me up to what the world can offer and I want to continue to develop my photography to capture my experiences more effectively.
