The longest day ever...........

ECUADOR | Wednesday, 24 October 2012 | Views [311]

This is the first post abroad, and as am staying in a rather nice hotel, am able to get it online on my first day here!! Plus the tour guide has been delayed by a burst tyre, so I have time to write it up. Yesterday was the longest day, I was awake and travelling pretty much for 24 hours :S

Lessons from the day of travel -

1. Heathrow takes a long time to get to when both M3 and M25 are jammed up :S

2. You still need a $14 visa even if you only spend 2 hours inside the airport in Houston!!

3. Airport security will take bottles of water from you even if you are transferring & haven't been out of the "secure" area :( though luckily the nice man said i could take the nearly empty bottle after I tried to "chug" the remaining water (his words)!!

At Houston, I was VERY tempted to spend my dollars on candy & silly "Houston, we have a problem" T-shirts, but decided that the 1st day of travelling was not the ideal time to go bonkers :) I did, however, treat myself to a packet of peanut butter M&Ms :D yummmmmm!

So far coping with the altitude - but no drinkies for me - not just yet :)

ciao for now :)
