I watched this dance from high up on the Sacré-Cœur observatory, where beyond them I could see the sprawling city. This small moment of music-less dance lessons contrasts with the grandeur of the city, and reaffirms the romance of Paris.

At the Montmartre art market, dozens of artists sell their creations to a packed square of tourists looking for the perfect souvenir. While each artist's booth seems to boast another Eiffel Tower recreation, look closely and you'll find beautiful, original work. This artist mixes her paint carefully with a steady hand, and recreates her city one color at a time.

The pigeons of Paris are as common as the Eiffel Tower postcards, but to this young traveler they are a novelty. I watched this boy stand still in the flock of birds, almost blending into them, until he ran away, either unable to resist or tempted by the hand of his parent. He's a lesson in seeing the world through beginner's eyes.
