More Fortune!!!

So post match, given the timing, we headed back to our campsite for a little snooze and interneting (hence the last posting).  A quick BBQ and change of clothes later, we headed to THE bar where the Barmy Army were located.  The atmosphere was electric.  Hilarious chats with rather merry troops were interspersed with incredibly enthusiastic singing of the various crazy songs.  The trumpeter, Billy, nearly blew his eyes out as he was playing so hard and certainly the volume nearly blew the roof off.  Our ears are still ringing.  Later in the evening we were joined by some of the team (Collingwood, Ambrose, Vaughan, Monti, Anderson, Cook, Harmison, Mustard just to name a few!!!)  It was mad.  I, of course, got photos with them all, nearly, and tried hard to talk intelligent cricket, but predictably ended up hearing about Collingwood's new baby girl!!!  Oh and he spilt my drink all over me (Sue) and so in return gave me his Beer!!!!  The Barmy Army then sang out again and at one point Collingwood was standing on the bar having a sing off with a guy called Graham who sings the solo during the song set to the 'Loin Sleeps Tonight' (not sure if you've heard it).

Another funny moment was when Monty was called upon by the Barmy Army (who you don't refuse) 'to give us a song' and he almost died of embarrassment.  Harmison stepped up to help him and between them they started another awesome rendition of the national anthem.

The whole night was brilliant and I still can't get the sound of Royal Britannia out of my head, being sung by 300ish very pumped up cricket fans.  It was incredible and I just wish we could have bottled it up and shared it with you all.

Anyone up for the Windies in 2009???!
