About sami-jo
Sami-Jo is a mad foodie with an anomalous fascination for homewares and spends most of her time dreaming about food. Her walk (or rather swift stride), oh-so cleverly dubbed the ‘Sami-Jo Walk’ dictates her movement through life; fast and determined.
When she isn’t studying Media Arts and Production with International Studies at the University of Technology Sydney or performing in their theatre troupe Backstage, she can be found at the beach, on the dance floor busting out salsa moves to Latin American reggaeton, Michael Jackson and 80’s disco, or in the kitchen baking biscuits whilst listening to Queen at full blast.
A globetrotter at heart, her tango with worldwide travel has shaped much of her cultural outlook on life and is a constant source of inspiration for her filmmaking and writing.
She is turned on by the thought of Johnny Depp as a pirate, Anakin Skywalker before he fell to the dark side, Iggy’s pecan and raisin loaf, a good bottle of Argentinean Malbec and a Hendrix riff.
Her greatest fears are the passing of time and Ferris wheels. A kiss at the top of one is her idea of the worst date of all time. In ten years, if she hasn’t been accepted into the Jedi Order, she will be found in Bologna, Italy drinking espresso and continuing to walk fast.
