Arrived at a travel agent at 6.30am and had to wait until 7am for the pick up to the dock. Got to the dock only to find out that a bus was taking us to another dock, the point of that I will never know! Another 1 hour on a bus and then sitting on the boat for one hour twenty before it eventually departed for the 1 and a half hours boat ride we arrived on the island. With a final 30min taxi ride we finally and I mean finally arrived at the beach we wanted to be on. Found a decent place to stay, with air con and tv for the cheapest we have had that combo. Watched the F1 qualifying, bet I forget everything I learnt about that!

Got some cheap towels so we don't have to take our only ones to the beach and then have them get smelly. Went to the beach for a bit and enjoyed the sea. Had dinner and a pint at Tropical Murphy's, really good food. Got a McDonalds ice cream and went back to the room and found we could watch the F1 there so we legged it to 7/11 and brought some beers and settled in for the night. Typical that the sports channel that it was on we didn't have last night when I wanted to watch the footie!

After walking all down the beach and checking out resorts yesterday, we moved to one that met all of our requirements for splashing out, a pool, the beach, air con, tv, fridge and safe. Hit the beach for a bit and then had a dip in the pool. Laura and Charlie arrived in the evening so we met them at the airport. We had booked them into the resort next door as it had a better pool and we had every intention of using it oursevles!!

Had a hard day lazing on the beach and going in the sea today. Really nice clear wate again. Got ourselves a bat and ball set and played in the shallows. Nice to have a safe as it meant that we didn't need to take all our valuables to the beach. Ended up the day with a ton more bites. Saw a caberet show done by lady boys in the evening. It was funny, good and scary all at the same time! Some of them were scary looking and some were pretty.
29/4 (100 days away)
As our pool seemed to be by a building site, we spent the day by Laura and Charlies' pool. Which was nicer than ours anyway whether the building site was there or not. So nice to have a dip and not worry about getting sand everywhere, how I hate sand......Finally found the little blue bag I've been looking for for days and turns out that it was in the other direction to where I thought it was!
So the elephant riding was awesome and I think will struggle to be topped the whole rest of the trip! Hopefully be back soon for an update on Ko Pha Ngan and the rest of Thailand.
