A farmer walks home after a day working his crop of of ground nuts (peanuts) along the fertile bank of the Irrawaddy River. Peanuts are part of traditional Burmese cuisine. Lahpeq Thouq is often served after a meal in circular partitioned trays filled with a spread of sesame seeds, fried peas, dried shrimp, fried garlic, and peanuts around a fermented green tea leaf salad.
