My new home, Thai style

THAILAND | Tuesday, 7 May 2013 | Views [595] | Comments [1]

So that's my week in Bangkok over already! I'm now here in Surin where I will be teaching English to three year olds in a local school.

A few things from last week:

Went to a market and ate a grasshopper!!

Went in a racing tuktuk

visited some temples

Yesterday was a long hot scorching day, seven hours in a van with a dodgy tummy, but finally we all made it our apartments here in Surin. Unfortunately, the girls I made good friends with aren't close by, but easy to travel to at weekends which is fine.

Last night... We walked into town and there I made friends with an elephant!!! Highlight of my trip so far without a doubt!!

i am struggling to keep hydrated in this heat, have never felt heat like this before, I'm hoping I will learn to function in it in a short amount of time.

Hi Ruth,
Awesome blog!!! Awesome niece!!! Grasshopper sounds yummy. Was it fried or poached? Elephant sounds like fun.
Q. What's the difference between a pub and an elephant's fart?
A. One's a bar room and the other is a BARROOOOM!!
Keep having fun!
L&K's,
Fred
