This is one of the well-known regulars we met on both occasions we visited. Rarely without a smile on his face, I caught this moment where he dropped the smile and seemed to be in a moment of deep thought, what it was exactly we will never know. It just shows the pub is not just a place of smiles but also somewhere people go to have a long hard think about life.

Pub life in Ireland is similar to wherever you are in the world, the main reason you are there is for a pint, or whatever your tipple. Although, you will soon notice that traditional Irish pubs come with something a little more special than just a tasty drink.

Connie Doolan's is a small pub in the port town of Cobh on the southern shores of Ireland, the name itself couldn’t possibly be more Irish. After the first hour it was as if we were long time regulars, on the 2nd visit the night after, it was like a home away from home.
