    The owner takes a break from serving drinks to help her young daughter with her homework. Having to juggle home life with running a pub can be tough at times, but I guess this is why you feel so at home in an Irish pub such as Connie Doolan's, it’s not just a place to drink, it's a way of life, the Irish pub life. by: russ_photo Views[174] This is Tamara, who the owner proudly introduced us to on the 1st night there. With Tamara being there it just added even more to the homely atmosphere you feel when visiting Connie Doolan's. by: russ_photo Views[192] A reflection of the owners working away behind the small bar, surrounded by the various knick-knacks that hang off the pub's walls. I never did find out where the red fluffy handcuffs came from. by: russ_photo Views[179] This is one of the well-known regulars we met on both occasions we visited. Rarely without a smile on his face, I caught this moment where he dropped the smile and seemed to be in a moment of deep thought, what it was exactly we will never know. It just shows the pub is not just a place of smiles but also somewhere people go to have a long hard think about life. by: russ_photo Views[184] Pub life in Ireland is similar to wherever you are in the world, the main reason you are there is for a pint, or whatever your tipple. Although, you will soon notice that traditional Irish pubs come with something a little more special than just a tasty drink. Connie Doolan's is a small pub in the port town of Cobh on the southern shores of Ireland, the name itself couldn’t possibly be more Irish. After the first hour it was as if we were long time regulars, on the 2nd visit the night after, it was like a home away from home. This is what makes Irish pub life, the hospitality, the stories, the banter and the characters, or as the Irish say
