I envisaged mornings of sitting outside my tent, enjoying my breakfast after shooting a beautiful sunrise. That of course is not always the case, the weather was so bad that I had to fire up my stove inside my tents porch, even then the wind was swirling around inside making things difficult.

The first of 3 nights hiking in Snowdonia, Wales. The weather was far from ideal with gale force winds, persistent rain and low cloud, I knew right away that the trip was going to be a challenge.

I took this shot to give a feeling to what the weather was like. Wind is invisible, apart from when you have fast moving clouds overhead and the right conditions for a long exposure, you can also see the deformed look of my tent due to the force.

Sometimes you have to do away with technical skill and just grab the moment. The point this was taken I was absolutely beat, battling against gale force winds and rain all day with a 16kg pack was taking it's toll, but I pushed on. Taken with my GoPro 3
