i made it back to the condo - on a motorcycle - after being blessed by a monk in an amazing temple (wat) - very long story but a wonderful one

we've been going to school these last three days at a temple near our hotel - we aren't allowed to wear shoes or show our shoulders or knees, the women can not touch the monks although they love to talk to us and ask questions

school is long and tons of info in a short amount of time but has been very good - after school its all about the beach and the ocean

this weekend we're going to an island called ko samet and looks like we have to pay a speed boat to take us there to avoid the hefty fee to enter the national forest - who knows...!

the other student/teachers are great - mostly american and british but a few from south america and canada - our instructors are from india, england, canada, and thailand

still trying to figure out where we're going to be placed but hoping it will all work out

trying to learn thai and have a few basics down - its a hard language to pronounce but beautiful

the food is great - spicy as hell but great - very humid so i'm pretty damn sweaty all the time - the squat toilets are interesting but i'm getting pretty good at them already - the people are very very friendly and forgiving of us forang who make a lot of cultural mistakes -

apparently we don't get paid until december! which is just another of the wonderful things involved in this project that i'll just have to suck up and be a good little buddhist...

once i figure out my cell phone i'll put up the number so y'all can send me some voice mail - until then give me a shout out on the comments!

Sounds like you are getting right in there and having the adventuresome life you were seeking, squat toilets, green mould and all!

I want to know about: bugs, sweat, sweets,Thai dogs, Thai music, and a few words (thank you, please).
