    Pilgrims have been walking the Camino de Santiago for centuries, for religious, spiritual and personal reasons. The path of enlightenment and a sense of clarity in daily life is something that many aim to be rewarded with after their journey. Views[165] A purpose of the journey was to escape the chaos and rushes of daily city living. Your single focus each day is to walk from point A to point B. I don’t think we ever get this experience and time to reflect in our normal lives. Although the language barrier prevented us from conversing, this man was more than happy for me to take his photograph. I continually wonder who the second seat belonged to. Views[135] Although I am not religious the significance of the iron cross still had a considerable impact on me. It is common for pilgrims to carry a rock to represent their burdens or sins. Placing the rock at the base of the cross symbolises the letting go of these burdens. Views[248]
