16 & 18 February, Puerto Montt Chile. This place is pretty crappy. There are mountains, a volcano and lakes nearby, but the town itself is not good for too much, other than for cathing the ferry down South (which I will be boarding in a few hours).
Only exciting thing that happened here, was my first bit of police work that I have done in about 5 years. I was walking downtown with a German guy I met in the hostel and this young guy fell on the road, couldnñt get up and started frothing at the mouth. We drag him off the road, put him in the recovery position and tried (unsuccessfully), while many people drove by, to call an ambulance. Eventually the police came. Unfortunatelly, by this time, he was still frothing but starting to go a bit nuts, struggling a bit and hitting his head on the footpath. So, ended up helping the local police restrain him. Once under control, we left. Don´t know what happened. At least it gave me something interesting to talk about from Puerto Montt.
Puerto Montt - At least there was a McDonalds in town, so somewhere safe enough to eat. The Hostel, Tren Dur Sur was very nice, with a really great host, who has given me ides for future trips. Other than that, not a lot, other than more homeless dogs!
