My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Thanksgiving in South Korea, celebrated every September for three days, is one of the most colorful celebrations on the planet, a photographers paradise that illustrates the personalities of its subjects. Naturally the children steal the show from "Gorgeous" and "Please Release Me" to "Pick Up Arrows", but family feeling also pervades as illustrated by "Hands". Our natural tendency toward narcissism is represented by "Self Portrait," and is instantly forgiven.
I'm an amateur photographer who during the last 18 years of near continuous international travel has lived in over 140 countries, busily taking thousands of photos, hundreds of which have been published on Gonomad.com, see http://www.gonomad.com/corp/davidrich.html, and in books published by Mitchell Lane Publishers. Also see my stories and photos on my 9 websites at http://mytripjournal.com/RichWorld.
However, though I have been taking photos for over 50 years I have no formal training, which I realize I direly need. I've always lusted after a Bhutan expedition, which would introduce me to one of the few UN countries I haven't lived in. This contest presents the perfect opportunity at the highest possible level, an unparalleled chance to learn from one of the world's top photographers. Thank you for that.
