Whoo Baby is my pack full!
I think I'm pushing the limits on it- I've had it for a very long time and this will be the the most amazing adventure it's been on as well.
It only weighs 23 pounds though. That's very manageable.
I repacked it again today and again, I'm glad I did. What a production. I hope they give us plenty of time to get ready each day. I have to sit on the pack to get my sleeping bag in! The sleeping bag is new so it's extra fluffy I think. My old sleeping bag was probably 15 years old and the end was ripped out. It was time for a new one. I almost opted to bring the old one since my new one is so nice! That's silly though, I need a good bag.
Now that it's loaded again, I'm going to take the dogs for a hike and wear it to try and get used to it. I meant to do that much earlier in the season but it's taken me this long to get everything I need. I didn't have anything but the backpack to start with. I had to get quick dry clothes, new sleeping bag, compression bags, 3 oz containers (thank you terrorists), pretty much everything. My hiking boots are in questionable shape as well but I think they'll be fine. No turning back now.
I am being overly cautious about losing my main pack so I'm pushing my carry-on to it's limits. For the trip there anyway. I'll put most of it in my checked luggage on the way back. I'd be far too miserable for 18 days if it got lost or stolen. The way I'm packed now, I would be out a sleeping bag, mat, pack, sandals and a few clothes, everything else is in my carry-on. If I don't have any blowouts I'll be writing a couple of great reviews!
I'm sure this is going to be incredible. I'm nervous and excited. Only l one week to go!
