As the cubs get more and more accustomed to humans over time, they get more and more courageous in their pursuit of easy food sources and begin to get themselves in trouble.

Scenes like this, where famous Grizzly Bear 399, walks her cubs directly up the roadside in Grand Teton National Park, WY while humans stand around watching as if all things are normal, are becoming way too common. Are we loving our wildlife to death?

Grizzly 399’s adult cub Grizzly 610 gave birth to her second set of cubs over the winter of 2013/2014. She already lost one to natural causes, when she appeared with this COY. A couple of days later, as tourists and photographers were crowding them along the roadside to the point of panic, she chased her cub up a tree, and then later abandoned it, allowing it to perish.
