The World Through My Lens

My Scholarship entry - The monks of Thikse Monastery

India | Sunday, November 23, 2014 | 5 photos

When I click pictures, I feel a flow of positive energy around me. Capturing this flow gives me a medium to contribute and inspires me to share the feeling. Over a period of decade, I have come a long way from taking family pictures to going on solo photography trips. The unending yearning for this art has made me learn the techniques on my own which I am perfecting over time and experience.

As an engineer, I learnt about experimenting. As a photographer, I am learning about the human behavior. Working as an algorithmic trader, I trade in stock markets which thrive on human sentiments, and as a photographer, I try to capture same emotions which are also part of everyone's lives. Though my work and my passion might seem to be tangential, I see that as an opportunity to bridge the gap of stereotyped corporate and alternate careers. I see wilderness in urban lives and strong orderliness in the life in wild.

While the journey has been quite fulfilling so far, thanks to fellow travellers who have both inspired me and been wonderful critique, I seek a mentor now to ameliorate. Through this experience with Jason, I want to bring more meaning to my pictures, more strength in my stories.
