The World Through My Lens

Meet Jampa, age 10, the youngest monk at Thikse. After his father’s death in a road accident, his mother couldn’t afford his studies and thus started his journey as Buddhist monk. He loves to play football and before coming here he wanted to be a pilot, now he wants to become a spiritual leader and teacher. His English speaking abilities made me connect with him instantly. What is Buddhism for you I asked, “A state of being happy and satisfied”, he said. it sounded like a well-rehersed reply.
