Thousands of Indians and mestizos of the southern Andes of Peru pilgrimage to one of the Apus (gods) most important in their worldview: the snowy mountain Qolke Punku (15,500 feet), which also houses the Catholic Lord Ritt'i Qoyllur. Pure religious syncretism.
