The market in Mongu town is usually so busy you can barely move. However this was taken during the Kuomboka Ceremony where the King arrives at his dry season palace. The market was completely empty except for this man making dresses for a friends wedding.

This photo was taken in a school for orphans. Zambia's Western Province has the highest percentage of orphans in the country. There are two classrooms, two teachers and they teach nearly 400 pupils each day.

This man was in his final year of studying medicine before he had to leave his home in Angola because of the civil war. Despite having finished the training and exams he was never officially qualified. He and his wife now run a village for orphans. The baby girl in the photo and her twin sister were only 4 days old when this was taken. Their father died of AIDS and their mother died during childbirth.
