Visited the famed World Heritage temples of Angkor Complex situated in Siem Reap. The temples represent 600 years of Khmer civilisation from the years 802 to 1432. The earlier temples are Hindu temples with later ones added by Buddhists. The history if this civilisation is one that you cannot help but marvel and somtimes it is hard to comprehend.
The day started with an early morning visit to the Angkoe Wat temples to watch the sunrise. Thereafter we visited the other temples in the complex including Bayon with the statues of smiling faces and Angkor Thom, the temple where huge trees have claimed some of the structures. This last temple was also featured in Tomb Raiders.
All the sites were fantastic and a spending a day here is just not enough.
In the evening, we visited teh Angkor Night Market to experience something very strange - a foot massage with a difference.
Soak your feet in a large tub of water and hundreds of tiny fish will come and nibble off the dead/hard skin causing a ticlking, tingling sensation. Boy that was the wierdest thing I've done and it was a strange feeling. They give you a money back guarantee if it doesn't make you smile!!
