My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am an avid traveler who comes from a small but vibrant city. I fly for a living; and wherever I go, I go with an open heart to embrace people and their cultures. I'm never without my camera and tripod - people call me crazy but I think it's crazier to miss a moment worthy of capturing because that moment can truly be anywhere, with anyone, at anytime.
I am a firm believer in spontaneity; it is in my most spontaneous moments that I have made some of the best life decisions. I have climbed mountains in the Himalayas, scuba dived the whole of Bali, and explored the wonders of Silk Road hitchhiking. All these, I do to pursue my love for photography and adventure.
It is my lifelong dream to become a travel photographer, to have my photographs and stories published. To show the world what this world can offer. To gently remind us of the beauty in things that we may have forgotten.
This scholarship presents the best opportunity to learn from world renowned photographer Jason Edwards. More importantly, I hope to be inspired.
I can only imagine Oman to be the perfect destination, where earth and sky literally meet; one that is not only far-flung, but also far from my daily life.
