My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Worldwide | Sunday, October 10, 2010 | 4 photos
These photographs are from the historic dockyard in Portsmouth, England. Starting with the figurehead from H.M.S Benbow, passing parts from various old British ships (anchors, barrels) and ending in H.M.S Victory which is famous for winning the Battle of Trafalgar when captained by Vice Admiral Lord Nelson. At 245 years old, it is the oldest naval ship in the world still in commission and is currently kept in dry dock.
My name is Robert Fitzsimmons and I was born in Portsmouth, so naval roots is part of my blood and why I have chosen this place as my entry. I hope my HMS Victory photo's will allow me another chance to travel like it did for thousands of sailors over the past two and a half centuries and allow me to build on my passion for photography.
