In late afternoons and on the weekends the children enjoy trips to the mountain and playing games around town. After hiking up the mountain, Villempe, the youngest of the residents, has the ability to cheer anyone up with his captivating, joyful presence.

Middelburg is a small town, located in the middle of South Africa. A single building serves as a children's home for over 30 children from nearby townships whose families were unable to provide and care for their children. Two meager buildings are a home, refuge, support system, and often a school.

Often the teenagers in the home found themselves bored in the small town. They had an infatuation with taking photographs. Afternoons were spent learning how to pose for the camera. They were empowered and gained confidence while learning a new skill.
