Lake McKenzie at Dawn: This picturesque lake is a reward on the Routeburn Track, a 32km track in New Zealand’s South Island that weaves through the valleys and lakes of the Southern Alps.

View of Lake Wanaka from Roys Peak:
Roys Peak is a full day’s walk, including a steep, winding trail of thick grass up one side, but the summit gives views of the mountainous landscapes and lakes that New Zealand is known for.

Yellow-eyed Penguin at Moeraki:
Also known as the Hoiho, this is an endangered, native penguin found in the South Island. As with all penguins, he can't fly, which made it easy to follow this one as he wandered around Moeraki Light-house beach searching for breakfast with his colony.
