My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have been passionate about wildlife since I was a small child, and have actively sought out opportunities to travel to (and live in) many countries purely for the wildlife they contain. I have come to photography in recent years to try and convey the passion I feel - to try and inspire that same passion & sense of wonder in others. I am mainly self taught through observing the images that inspire me and then seeking to understand how these images were captured. I would love to be able to make a living from photography, but most of all I want to capture natural beauty & interesting behaviors in such a way that others experience the same emotional responses that I do. I believe that if I am fortunate enough to win, I will learn the disciplines of working to a photographic brief from a leading professional, as well as understanding how a professional shoot is structured and managed to make the most of a situation: with nature & the outdoors, there is always an element of fortune in the weather, wildlife & behavior available to photography, but I believe working with a genuine expert I will learn how to take full advantage of whatever presents itself.
