Ok...so we relaxed a little today...we wandered down a long river from about 3kms north of the town into town, on a big inner tub (the kind we would normally use to go down a snow embankment in Canada!)...what a fab time...so relaxing (there were many spots to get out of the water and enjoy a Beer Lao) and the scenery - amazing - huge limestone mountains riddled with trees, women and kids collecting river weed/grass to make food from, kids spear fishing...what a trip.
Last night, I got really ill and did not sleep well for getting up each minute and the loud music from the pub across the street, so today was a relaxing treat.
Tomorrow, we are off for Vientiene -where we need to arrange for our Vientam visas (forgot about that) and our flights to Hanoi to start our Vientam adventure! Excited!
