The only shop on the small island closes early so the locals who work in the city have to buy their food there and transport it down to the island. No local goodies today.

Visiting the cemetary of the small island community of Pellinki, where my grandfather is buried, with my little sister. I just love the entry from the sea. My sister and I often go down to the cemetary pier just to look out to sea and wonder what it was like on my grandfathers boat.

The end of an era. The small school has now closed its doors after 100 years. My grandmother was a teacher and my mother went to this school. My cousin would have started his first year at this school this autumn but it fell victim of the governments new politics. Not a good start for the new generation on Pellinki.
