Buddhist monks blesses you as you give them an offering of food in a daily ritual. The bowl holds the goods you give them. In Thailand monks are not vegetarian, because they eat what ever the people give them.

There are many villages in the mountains of Northern Thailand. Each village with their own traditions and clothing and languages. Many customs and traditions are lost through westernisation and exploits of tourism.
