At home in the forest the Sumatran Orangutan has a population of less than 6000 individuals and is endangered with extinction. lowland tropical rainforest on the Island of Sumatra is their home and 'Place' in this space and time. This intelligent primate shares 97% of its DNA with humans and points to our own evolutionary journey from the rainforests over 6 million years ago.
