Hobart and the west coast

Hobart from the water. There was a running commentary during the boat ride, but I didn't hear much of it. I preffered to sit outside on the back of the boat.

Ah ha! Here you go. There's a giant chess board in the park. That's kind of interesting, but I don't know how to play. Sorry Erik!

So here's the Derwent bridge again. If you look 4 pillars along from the left, you can see where it's a bit fatter. A ship crashed into it in 1975 and took out that whole section. It took three years to repair and the city had to rely on a much smaller bridge 10kms north from here. (the one I had to use on the bike). It was a chaotic few years apparently!
