After a grueling day of endless flight connections (New York -> Munich, Munich -> Madrid, Madrid -> Barcelona) and luggage misplaced by the airline, I started off my globetrotting on a rather stressful note! But as soon as I arrived at the Barcelona airport, the warm and gracious welcome showered by my ‘amiga’ Mar made all my travel troubles melt away. She is a very special person – enthusiastic, caring and very organized! I remember how happy she and her other Spaniard friends, who had traveled from Barcelona for our wedding in India 2 years ago, were to done on their ‘saris’ and be included in Indian cultural festivities. A warm shower later and catching up on all the events, she surprised me with lovely gifts from Barcelona – a great collection of pictures postcards and her favorite Spanish singers! “Fue genial!” ( It was wonderful!)
