My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

This is the part of the final ascent. Due to the angles and incline I was unable to grab something as dramatic higher. You can see Lake Tahune in the bottom. This is where our hut for the night was located. The path to the right is the beginning of the 4 hour ascent climb. We elected to go in October (spring here in Australia) which is just before this area gets busy. We where surprised and delighted to find that many parts of the summit still had snow on it. You can see Yuri, in the vis jacket standing in some of it. To give some more scale you can see George standing on a rock above the lake.
