Steps to the heaven of the Ocean: The stairs that take you from the harsh and barren land to the heaven that awaits under the water. It is one of the many things that makes this part of the world so special, the contrast. You literally step off the desert and into the coral filled sea. It gives you a stark reminder of the hidden beauty that is the underwater world.

Sunrise over the Red Sea: Sometimes it is worth getting up that little bit earlier.. This was taken in Dahab, Egypt as the sun rose over Saudi Arabian soil. This is one of my favourite places that I have been to. A truly peaceful and calming place. Everyone is kind hearted and well meaning, they don’t care for the clothes that you wear nor the style in which you have your hair.. It seems to be a place where people are judged on who they are and not by what they own.. A wonderful place where the issues of the world seem to float away and the mind is at peace..

Hawksbill Turtle: I was lucky enough to have this encounter during the summer holiday (2012) on the corner of Jackson Reef in the Straits of Tiran, Egypt. An example of the biodiversity, colour and beauty of coral reefs all over the world. Which sadly are under threat and the amount of time that we will have them looking like this may be limited. This beautiful hawksbill was completely at ease with getting as close as I liked and even moved toward where I was. A beautiful moment, on a beautiful dive, in a beautiful place.
