Mount Moses: As you descend from the summit of Mount Moses you reach a cluster of buildings. The simplicity of the place, the silence, the clarity, is all truly peaceful. It is easy to see why this a place of faith and spirituality, everything about the place allows you to see past what is directly in front of you. It also gives you a chance to clear your mind and just feel the place that you are in. A wonderful stop off on the long walk down.

Sunrise at the Top: 7km up, after 4 hours of walking and you reach the summit of Mt Sinai (Mt Moses) and the tranquility bursts out over the horizon at 4 30am. The feeling of reward for a bit of effort floods your body as the first warmth hits your face. The air is still and there is no sound, you feel yourself sink into calmness and just watch the slowly climbing sun creep over and cast light over the landscape at your feet. It may not be the edge of space, but hey.. its not too bad.

Sunrise over the Red Sea: Sometimes it is worth getting up that little bit earlier.. This was taken in Dahab, Egypt as the sun rose over Saudi Arabian soil. This is one of my favourite places that I have been to. A truly peaceful and calming place. Everyone is kind hearted and well meaning, they don’t care for the clothes that you wear nor the style in which you have your hair.. It seems to be a place where people are judged on who they are and not by what they own.. A wonderful place where the issues of the world seem to float away and the mind is at peace..
