I grew up in the NSW countryside, moving from Cobar as a young kid, closer to the coastline, to go to school in Bathurst, and afterwards, finally made the move to Sydney after finishing school. I never had any strong desires to 'be' anything when I was in school, or for the few years afterwards.

It was when I worked as a lithographic print machinist for a very brief time that I realised I enjoyed aesthetics, which led me to leave, and go work in a Kodak camera store on the Northern Beaches. I was distracted a lot by personal issues, and never took up photography as a result. I've now been working as a Digital product designer for the last 5 years, and in recent years have had the clarity of mind to focus my attention back on photography, and my attempts to capture and record some of the more interesting things I have seen.

It is a strong desire of mine to drop everything, leave my current job, and take up photojournalism, and the scary part of it is that I have absolutely no idea where to even start, and I feel I'd be a great candidate for the scholarship, as I feel Jason would be a great mentor, and definitely put me on the right path to achieving my goal.
