Getting There

UNITED KINGDOM | Saturday, 13 October 2007 | Views [278]

For those wondering why it has taken so long for stories to appear on my blog, well it's not for lack of trying.  I'm with Sean when I say that Italian keyboards definitely take some getting used to.

In searching for some Internet cafes, I was soundly led astray in believing they were actuall a) in the local area and if so b) open when I needed to use them.  Also, having been told that the Internet was available, I discovered that there lies a difference between what is actual and what is real.

London, though, was an absolute blast.  I'm definitely heading back to gain more of an appreciation and in-depth understanding of the city and the country overall.  Having found that the poorer class not come from Eastern Europe and that there now lies an eternal Holy Grail of finding a decent coffee, I have purpose!

After touring via the Big Bus Company, which I'd have to say was well worth it, the highlight for me was journeying to Greenwich and being indecisive about whether I was East or West...

Harrods was just a nightmare of twists, turns and smells with an array of dazzling sights designed to make sure you spend money.  So I did.  Yummy French chocolate and Harrod's own coffee will do just nicely.

Spent too little time really getting to know the city and I missed the opportunity to stop at the Apple store, but then they're on the list for next time.

After an early really, really express train ride back to the airport, it was on to Rome...
