My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My love for photography started out with my father. He wasn’t a professional but he had a passion for capturing memories and discovering things. Once I learned how to do it, we took photos together and often argued about how the photos should look. Photography became our way of bonding. We’ve captured sceneries together and, once, we rushed to a hill just to take photos of the night sky. Now, when I travel, I'd like to think when I bring my camera, I bring my dad with me.
I take photos to find inspiration. Nowadays, negative thoughts often trouble us, or sometimes we live such dull routines that we take things for granted. Maybe all anyone ever needed to break this spell was a fresh set of eyes. I can be a pessimistic person, but photography still gives me a sense of wonder and awe in my life. No matter how small, or depressing the subject, photography can change and awaken minds.
I just graduated from college and I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do. It recently dawned on me to consider that this may be my path. When I saw this opportunity, I dared myself to pursue my passion. I want to take on new adventures, go to new places with my camera, and inspire.
