Well everyone, we have returned from the Perhentian Islands. We had a fabulous time laxing on the beach for 4 and a half days, there's actually not that much to report from our stay there, as we did practically nothing for the entire time we were there! Oh, apart from one afternoon when we went snorkeling, which was amazing, and one of the highlights of our trip so far. Christopher saw a shark, but luckily it didn't eat him. The fish and coral that we saw were very cool, and the water was so warm, very lovely. The weather was perfect, we were slightly concerned that it would rain for five days, but that wasn't the case. One of the nights, we were woken up by the loudest thunder we'd ever heard in our lives, our wee room was shaking!! Was actually kind of scary...we were very brave though. :-)
We both did a lot of working on our tans, Christopher now actually has one - I've never seen him with a tan, so it's like having a whole new boyfriend...well not quite. I actually spent the last day there sitting in the shade, as I'd almost had too much sun (very rare occurrence!!).
We are now cooling off in the Cameron Highlands (before we came Christopher had decided that he wouldn't like it, due to the name of the place, but he seems to like it so far), which is a huge hill station, where they grow lots of tea, veggies, fruit and flowers, oh and it must be the place that land rovers come to die as there are heaps of them here (maybe a hold over from the Empire - so Christopher says).
It's much cooler here than down in the lowlands, which makes for a nice change. Tomorrow we're planning on doing a wee trek in the morning (nothing too strenuous!!) and we've booked in a tour for the afternoon. We're going to see the oldest tea plantation in Malaysia and go to a Butterfly Park and a Strawberry farm (I think?). Should be nice anyway. We're just here a couple of nights, and then we're heading to Georgetown. From there we might go to Langkawi, but if not, it's straight through to Bangkok! Hard to believe we've been here almost three weeks, the time is flying by.
