With wildlife photography I am hoping to impact people’s thoughts on conservation of wildlife and the fact that it is an essential part of life. Humans are reproducing faster than their resources, and if we continue to do so, then the human race will collapse under their own pressure for resources. Therefore we must bring this issue to people’s attention by showing them the importance and beauty of wildlife and nature, and an effective way of doing this is through imagery. Showing people the beauty and importance of something is a lot more effective than telling them.
With photography, I intend to educate people on the importance of nature and the wildlife around them before it is too late. In order to accomplish this goal, I must first travel to untouched areas of the world to capture the raw beauty of the landscape and the wildlife that inhabits it. In this respect, this is why I believe that this photography scholarship would benefit me as well as help me get my message across to the world through photography and hopefully impact people’s thoughts and decisions on conservation of land and wildlife.
