I'll just hit the big points here.
Day one, Sept 14, drove to the airport at 8:30 am with Donal (who by the way was an angel for not killing me durring the 10 or so days we spent together) Dropped off the car, had breakfast, got on a plane...
2h 55m later arrived in Dallas, met up w/Carlyn sat for 1 or 2, got on a plane...
2h 30m later arrived in Miami, met up w/Dave sat for an hour or two, got on yet another plane (although this one lacked the kick ass video screens in the head rests the last one had)...
5h 30m later arrived in Lima. First thing we saw in Peru... McDonalds and a Papa Johns... sat in that airport (which was a hell of a lot better than Miami's) for oh, 7 or so hours before finally getting on a plane to Cusco.
A little over an hour later we arrived at our destination (a full 27hours after I left the house)
Got a sweet hostel. Three of us in one room with a private bath and breakfast included all for the price of $10/person.
DAY 2:
Walked the city (haveing no clue what we were doing) being sunday most everything was closed. Carlyn wanted to go to the Central market but from the guide books it look like taking a taxi would be the best idea (not in a great part of town)
so what did we do? why yes, we accidently wandered to the market area, where carlyn spotted a parade (thing large mass of people... exactly the thing the guide books warn you to avoid) so what did Carlyn do? yes, moved closer to take photos (which are awesome) what else happend? Carlyn got her pocket slashed (thankfully didn't loose anything though)
We then went and had a great dinner. i ate something which resembled a joint of, i believe they told me it was lamb, carlyn had a trout, head and all, and dave had the chichronnes. Then back home to fall asleep before 9pm get up today and do more city wandering.
So far it's been a blast.
Oh yeah, and the first night I woke up in the middle of the night and passed out in the bathroom cause of the altitude, but I'm ok now.
Will write more later,
Off to hike to Machu Picchu on Wednesday.
