My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Zoologist by profession, I started pursuing serious photography after completing an advance course in photography. My tryst with travel photography started during my work journey on the Science Express train which traveled across India for 7 months giving me an opportunity to observe the life and emotions on streets closely and to experiment with my photography skills.

Traveling across India to 58 cities witnessing different culture and conditions taught me to understand and adapt to different situations. It metamorphosed me from an occasional photographer to a practicing photographer. I feel life around me is daily buzzing with such characters and emotions that it inevitably drives me to capture the happenings around me in my camera.

I understand that switching to professional photography is not an easy decision and is a gradual process. As a learner, I have a lot to improve on my photography skills but this scholarship will help me develop myself as a teacher or a mentor who eventually would like to inspire others to learn photography in authentic way. I feel this opportunity will also act as a catalyst in helping me to give a new dimension to my approach towards photography.
