Queen of the Hills A story of Chowrasta Square or the The Mall in Darjeeling where people gasping for fresh air in congested town gather to enjoy the beauty of majestic hills.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Darjeeling also known as the 'Queen of the Hills' is a town situated at an altitude of 6710 ft. in the Indian state of West Bengal. Under immense pressure from the Tea and Tourism industry, dense greenery of the hills is replaced by tea gardens and concrete structures. Seen above in the image is the tracks of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway- a World Heritage Site which leads up to the Chowrasta Square popularly known as The Mall.
